Canyoneering St. George

For the canyoneers looking for canyons west of the Zion area, then canyoneering St. George, Utah is a great place to find technical routes. There are a handful of beginner-friendly routes just north of St. George and some more advanced canyons in-between.  As most people know, St. George gets very hot during the summer, so the ideal times to descend these canyons are in the spring, fall, and sometimes winter. If you choose to descend any of these routes in the summer, just make sure you get an early start and bring adequate amounts of water. This area is also a canyoneering destination for many who live in Northern Arizona.

Some of the technical routes in the St. George area reside in Snow Canyon State Park. If descending a canyon within the state park’s boundaries then you must get a permit from the Snow Canyon State Park’s website.
